Our Commitment

Religious consecration, by its very nature, seeks to bring about right relationships in the world. Countless examples exist in which sisters have given their lives, particularly through the education and healthcare ministries, to improve the lives of others.  Together with our partners in ministry, associates and volunteers, and through our congregational and ministerial/organizational structures, sisters and lay leadership have many opportunities on a regular basis to prevent and mediate injustices and to bring about peace and reconciliation.

Today, advocacy is more important than ever, as globalization and technology are changing the nature of our relationships and participation in society.  A renewed interest and understanding of the Catholic Social Teaching of the Church is foundational to this ministry.  Resources for keeping current, connected and involved with other organizations that share our vision and values are readily available on the local and regional levels.  On the international level, The Commission of Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation, better known as JPIC, is sponsored by the Union of Superiors General (USG) and the Union of International Superiors General (UISG) in Rome, Italy. It seeks to promote greater awareness, clearer analysis and more effective action on behalf of justice and peace.
